United Way Thanks A Million Awards

For three consecutive years, the United Way has said "Thanks a Million" to Best Buy Canada Ltd. This award is presented annually to companies which contribute $1 million or more to the United Way campaign across Canada.

We are deeply proud of the role that each of our employees has played in supporting the United Way which has helped strengthen the communities in which we live, work and serve.

RCC Safety Groups Program

The Retail Council of Canada’s Safety Groups Program was designed to encourage participants to achieve their own health and safety objectives, as well as those of the group.

In 2007, Best Buy Canada Ltd. received an award for exceeding all the criteria for each of our 2006 Health and Safety the initiatives. The Company has taken several steps over the last few years to reduce workplace injuries, and is committed to ensuring that all employees have a healthy and safe work environment.

North American Occupational Safety and Health Week (NAOSH)

Best Buy Canada Ltd. is committed to creating a safe and healthy work environment for all teams and as such, we have been recognizing National Health and Safety week across the company as stores for both brands join Corporate headquarters (CHQ) and the Distribution Centres/Service Depots to focus on the importance of maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. In 2007, Best Buy Canada Ltd. received an award for it’s participation in the North American Occupational Safety and Health Week which presents an excellent opportunity to focus, reinforce and strengthen commitment to occupational safety and health.
